35. SPLC Karma and Colorblind Redistricting

This week, we discuss the SPLC getting defunded by the same financial weapon it tried to use against its enemies. A California teacher allegedly took a one-way train across the country, checked into the Washington Hilton, put on a shoulder holster, and went downstairs to kill the president.

The Supreme Court rewrites the rules on race-based redistricting in a 6-3 decision that will reshape congressional maps nationwide. Virginia’s Supreme Court denied Democrats’ emergency stay, leaving a lower court’s block on certifying their voter-approved redistricting referendum in place. Meanwhile, Florida Gov. DeSantis moved a new congressional map favoring Republicans through the legislature in roughly 48 hours.
